Catalin Dinu

Catalin co-heads the real estate team at Volciuc-Ionescu. With extensive expertise in title due diligence, permitting, construction and operation, as well as real estate M&A and finance, he is specialised in a wide range of transactions in relation to various types of land (including agricultural and forestry land), retail centres and shopping malls, office and residential buildings, industrial and logistic parks, agricultural and animal farms.

In addition, Catalin is a core member of the M&A team and has a strong focus on the energy sector. He has been involved in many types of national and cross-border M&A deals, including acquisitions, disposals, takeovers, buyouts, asset sales, joint ventures, while also advising high-profile international energy companies on oil& gas issues (including petroleum concessions, joint operating agreements, farm-in and farm-out agreements) and power matters (including development and acquisition of power plants, trading, renewables support schemes).

Prior to joining Volciuc-Ionescu, Catalin was an attorney-at-law within the Real Estate, M&A and Energy practices of the Bucharest office of leading law firms in Romania.


Catalin has authored papers on trends and developments in law relating to real estate and energy matters, as well as various legal guides on M&A, mining and oil&gas.
