Call for applications under the new state aid schemes for energy producers

Two calls for continuous applications have just been launched in connection with two new support schemes for energy producers:

  1. a state aid scheme aimed at supporting investments in production of energy from less exploited renewable resources, namely biomass, biogas, geothermal energy, approved through Government Decision no. 216/2017 (the “RES Aid Scheme”) (for details please see our recent briefing at http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=5a105fba-5c99-46cc-8679-fe5a44679ae6).
  2. a state aid scheme aimed at supporting investments in high efficiency cogeneration, approved through Government Decision no. 215/2017 (the “Cogeneration Aid Scheme”) (for details please see our recent briefing at http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=68e7acd6-8379-465b-b585-b44509e426a3).

Interested parties may submit applications in the period between 17 July 2017 and 31 December 2018, to the Ministry of Regional Development, Public Administration and European Funds.

The new state aid schemes have been set out under the Operational Programme – Large Infrastructure. The total budget allocated to these schemes is EUR 147.38 million, out of which EUR 83.85 million for RES Aid Scheme and EUR 63,53 million for Cogeneration Aid Scheme.
